About John
John is actively involved within the health care and real estate communities by serving on the Advisory Board for the Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo and participating in industry specific events. John has been a speaker and presenter on development and capital solutions at Becker’s Hospital Review Annual Meeting, Medical Group Management Association, Society for Healthcare Marketing Development, the Healthcare Strategy Institute, and the Healthcare Facilities Symposium.
Additionally, he is involved in a variety of leadership roles at Second Presbyterian Church and previously served on the Board of the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation. John lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Lynn, and their three children. He enjoys quality family time and favorite activities include water-skiing, cycling, running and swimming, and even yard-work.
Healthcare Design Work
John Marshall serves as a Principal Advisor with Hall Render Advisory Services, a consulting subsidiary of the law firm, Hall Render Killian Heath and Lyman. With more than 24 years- experience in commercial real estate and 18 years dedicated to healthcare, John serves a wide range of hospitals and health systems as a trusted and objective advisor to navigate real estate-specific engagements. Identifying proactive and value creation solutions, John advises clients on a range of real estate projects in planning, development, leasing, acquisition and monetization.
Prior to joining Hall Render Advisory Services, John worked with two national healthcare real estate development firms, Duke Realty and NexCore Group. During John’s tenure at Duke Realty he helped grow their healthcare platform from ~$250 million up to $1.9 billion invested in healthcare facilities. Upon Duke’s sale of it’s healthcare business unit in 2017, John joined the strategic development team of the NexCore Group, where he served until March of 2020.
