Ermyn King, MA, RDT, has worked for more than 30 years at the intersection of arts in health, arts education, arts and disability, and arts access. She has designed inclusive, accessible arts programming for diverse populations–often with complex medical conditions and/or varied disabilities–in settings such as Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Children's National Medical Center, the Children's Inn at NIH, and the Specialty Hospital of Washington and Capitol Hill Nursing Center, as well as through Penn State University, VSA Pennsylvania, Hospice Caring, and ArtStream. She originated and taught a graduate-level university course in puppetry for human development, makes and collects puppets, and integrates many uses and types of puppets into her arts in health work. A Registered Drama Therapist, she consulted for and was named a Distinguished Fellow of the Global Alliance for Arts & Health (formerly Society for the Arts in Healthcare).
