Designer, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson
Annelise Pitts is a designer with Bohlin Cywinski Jackson in San Francisco, CA. In her design work, she has collaborated with clients and interdisciplinary design teams on programmatically complex design and planning projects. Recent projects include the UC Davis Large Lecture Hall, and campus planning a library renovation for Dominican University of California. As a member of the Equity by Design core team, and the group’s Research Chair, she has led two national surveys exploring the professional experiences and aspirations of graduates of architecture programs. The 2016 survey is the largest study that has been conducted on equity in the architectural profession to date. She has spoken internationally about this research work, often coupling her talks with interactive workshops encouraging members of the AEC community to design a more just, equitable and sustainable profession. In addition to her work with Equity by Design, Annelise is a member of AIA’s Equity and the Future of Architecture Committee, where she is collaborating on the development of Equitable Practice Guides and a Firm Self-Assessment Tool for firms and individuals hoping to adopt equitable practices in their workplace.
