Heather J. McPherson, MSc, BSc, OT, CHE, Executive Vice-President of Patient Care and Ambulatory Innovation at Women’s College Hospital, accountable for all patient care programs, has a clinical background as an OT with a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Science while holding lecturer status at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Involved in this redevelopment project from programming to activation as Executive Lead for Operational Readiness, Heather’s clinical and research interests include women’s health and health system solutions. She will speak to the vision for creating a state of the art hospital for women and their families, to how translational practices are supported in the physical design, and what the metrics are indicating, measured against a new model of patient care in a facility not purpose-built for programs but ‘purposefully-built’ for flexibility and change such that new services and programs including refuge clinics have been readily accommodated.
