Philip LiBassi is a Principal in the firm of Westlake Reed Leskosky, founded in Cleveland in 1905 with offices in Cleveland, Ohio; Phoenix, Arizona; and Washington DC. His primary focus has been in the management of large, technically complex projects, with a particular emphasis on Healthcare with budgets up to $165 million. Many of these projects have been recognized for both technical and design excellence by awards and national publications.Mr. LiBassi is a member of: American Institute of Architects (AIA) where he served as Chapter Advisor; American College ofHealthcare Architects (ACHA); American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE); and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). A frequent participant in Healthcare conferences, Mr. LiBassi recently served as a speaker at the National Symposium on Healthcare Design, and as an author including an article for Health Facilities Management and the publication of New Models in ICU Design. He was recognized by Healthcare Design magazine as "Twenty Who Are Making a Difference" in advancing the design of healthcare facilities, and featured in "Who's Who in Healthcare Facilities Management" by FacilityCare magazine.
Understanding the need for comprehensive oversight of the program, budget, and technical aspects
of a project, Mr. LiBassi maintains close personal involvement throughout all phases of a project.
This involvement has led to innovative design concepts in medical/surgical patient rooms, intensive/
critical care patient rooms, surgical suites, with associated Pre-Op/PACU areas, as well as medical
departments that include Surgery, Cardiology, Radiology, Oncology, Emergency Rooms and
Gastroenterology. Nationally and internationally recognized healthcare clients include: Cleveland Clinic
Foundation & Health System, Banner Health System and the Veterans’ Administration. Under Mr.
LiBassi’s leadership, budget, schedule, environmental (LEED) and technical protocols and processes
have been developed that facilitate interaction with healthcare and administrative professionals, as
well as construction professionals. His firsthand knowledge of the design and complexities of building
systems, construction practices in a healthcare environment, and varying construction delivery methods
has been underpinned by over 25 years of experience.
Mr. LiBassi also has primary responsibility for the firm’s overall operations, including staffing and
scheduling. A registered architect in Ohio and Arizona, his experience includes projects throughout
the United States.
