Vice President, Practice Leader for Healthcare, Stantec Architecture
Bruce Raber is a Practice Leader for Stantec's global healthcare practice. He has over 30 years of experience in design, management, and production of complex buildings both in Canada and England. Bruce has been named as one of the top 25 most influential people in healthcare design in North America. Bruce's healthcare projects have ranged from a new hospital in Inuvik above the Arctic Circle in Northern Canada, to a new 100 bed hospital on the Island of Tobago in the Caribbean, to the $600 million North Island Hospitals project on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Bruce is involved in several current projects which are exploring innovation from varying perspectives including sustainability, research base design to create emerging 'best practice' solutions, to alternate project delivery models including design build and public private partnerships. As a "designer-healer", Bruce is a strong advocate in the role that architecture can play in delivering healthcare in today's social and economic conditions. In addition to his healthcare experience, he is an outstanding manager, motivator, and leader with a demonstrated ability to organize both people and projects. Bruce takes an active "hands-on" role in all the projects he gets involved in.
