Ray Pradinuk is the Leader, Healthcare Research & Innovation for Stantec Architecture and a Principal within the Vancouver Integrated Healthcare Design Studio. Working closely with clients and integrated design teams on healthcare projects, his focus has been on the impacts of spatial arrangement on care process efficiency and staff communications, and on building systems integration strategies to achieve exceptional indoor environmental quality and energy conservation. Ray monitors developments in healthcare design worldwide, visits the most outstanding new hospitals and care homes, and has completed or is involved in current research on a wide range of healthcare design issues. Ray’s Long Term Care experience includes a direct observational study with 10 weeks of direct observational data on the social space preferences of residents in 5 nursing homes in New Brunswick and the concept design for a 320-resident home in Vancouver for Providence Healthcare.
