Elaine Sims: A New Challenge to Arts in Healthcare Programs at the University of Michigan Health System: Success!

At the University of Michigan Health System the arts have been successfully integrated into the organization's culture. This is due to over 30 years of pioneering work by the Gifts of Art program. With the arts so integrated in the organizational culture, how does Gifts of Art maintain its identity, funding, institutional support and recognition? This presentation will focus on challenges and strategies for growth and sustainability.

3:45 PM - 4:15 PM
Judy Rollins: Art with Intent in Hospitals

There is an emergent movement for contemporary art designed specifically to promote positive outcomes in hospitals. An international study is underway through The Institute for Integrative Health to identify this art and explore perceptions of individuals who create, select, or use it; the principles that guide creation and selection; and evidence regarding outcomes for individuals exposed to the art. This session will present findings to date.
