Bruce Raber
Vice President, Practice Leader Healthcare, Stantec Architecture
Bruce Raber is a Vice President at Stantec Architecture and the Practice Leader for Stantec's corporate wide healthcare practice. Residing in Vancouver, British Columbia he has 30 years of experience in design, management, and production of complex buildings both in Canada and England. Bruce's healthcare projects have ranged from a new hospital in Inuvik above the Arctic Circle in Northern Canada to a new 100 bed hospital on the Island of Tobago in the Caribbean. Bruce is involved in a number of current projects which are exploring innovation from varying perspectives including sustainability, evidence base design to create emerging 'best practice' solutions, to alternate project delivery models including design build and public private partnerships.
As a "designer-healer", Bruce is a strong advocate in the role that architecture can play in delivering healthcare in today's social and economic conditions. He is a recognized "industry expert" and participates in a number of organizations focused on healthcare architecture. In addition to his healthcare experience, he is an outstanding manager, motivator and coordinator with a demonstrated ability to organize both people and projects. Bruce takes an active "hands-on" role in all the projects he gets involved in.
