David Chambers

A registered architect and the Director Planning and Design for Sutter Health System, Mr. Chambers has devoted the majority of his 31-year professional career to the healthcare field, Chambers has been involved in all aspects of planning and design and has specialized in planning and pre-design services, and project management. He brings a unique combination of problem solving skills and awareness of the issues that drive modern healthcare trends.

Chambers has synthesized his architectural background with his extensive knowledge of care delivery issues, developing a unique high-level multidisciplinary process (value stream) mapping approach, bringing lean thinking to care delivery interpreted for facilities in master facility planning and programming. He has also developed sophisticated capacity modeling tools and automated programming templates to streamline implementation of the concepts developed through his approach. Through this method, he has developed highly effective consensus driven changes in healthcare delivery that have reduced operating costs, cut patient care cycle-times, and improved patient satisfaction.
